Celebrate Reformation Sunday with us on October 30th!
Join us this Sunday at 11:15 as we celebrate Reformation Sunday! On October 31, 1517, Church reformer Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther’s actions along with other reformers Jan Hus, Jean Calvin, John Wycliffe, and Huldrych Zwingli triggered changes in the church which endure today. Their movement would eventually be called ‘the Reformation’. The principles of the Reformation are Scripture as the only source of authority (sola Scriptura), salvation through faith alone (sola fide), and the priesthood of all believers.
Reformation Sunday starts a yearlong celebration for the 500th jubilee of the Reformation. The Protestant Churches in Austria (Methodist, Lutheran, Reformed) will be holding speical events, worship services, and concerts to honor the Reformation. Learn more about the program at www.evangelisch-sein.at.
