There are many opportunities to learn and grow in Christian faith at ESUMC. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, the ministries listed below are currently on hold. However, we share these descriptions with you, and look forward to the restart of these ministries once the pandemic passes.
Children’s Sunday School
The English-speaking United Methodist Church Vienna offers a graded Sunday School Program for children from age 4 through senior high schoolers. We also have Nursery for children from 0 to 4 years old.
Our Sunday School runs every Sunday during worship at 11:15. The children are dismissed to Sunday School after the children’s time before the Scripture is read. Children participate in different times during worship like the Palm Sunday Procession and the Christmas Program. On the last Sunday of June, we have a Children and Youth Sunday which means the whole worship service is organized by children and youth of the congregation.
Every summer a special week-long Vacation Bible School is offered for children up to age 12.
On the first Saturdays of each month (except summer months), a special breakfast and speaker series is organized. Speakers present on a wide range of subjects from theology to politics to medicine.
A group hike is organized in the autumn in the region near Schneeberg, south of Vienna.
Weekly Bible study will resume on Thursday 28 January. Pastor John will lead this group discussion each Thursday evening, with the first topic of study to be determined. If you would like to suggest a book of the Bible or a topic for this study, please contact Pastor John
Young Adult Group at ESUMC is an international group that welcomes everyone between the ages of 18 through 30. Although we mainly speak English, most of us are also fluent in German. Our main aims are to support each other by our Christian faith and have a good time with each other
We meet regularly for smaller events and activities. Newcomers are always invited to join – the more, the merrier
ESUMC’s youth ministry includes Sunday School, confirmation classes for youth age 13 and up, and occasional youth group meetings.
