Weekly News, 2 July 2021

Dear ESUMC members and friends,
Blessings and peace to you all. Thank you for your prayers as I traveled peacefully last week to the US to visit my parents. I am grateful to Doreen and our lay leaders for their leadership of our worship service last Sunday.
Along with the easing of social restrictions announced on 1 July, I am happy to share the following new guidelines regarding Sunday worship and fellowship.
For worship, starting Sunday 4 July:

  • A mask covering the mouth and nose (Mund-Nasen-Schutz) must be worn in the church building at all times. A FFP-2 mask is no longer required.
  • A distance of one meter shall be maintained from persons from other households.
  • During the worship service, while seated, persons who are 3-G compliant may remove their masks, including to sing hymns. 3-G compliance in worship shall not be checked; we shall trust persons to comply honestly.
  • The requirement for worship leaders to be 3-G compliant remains in place.

For Coffee Hour Fellowship, starting Sunday 11 July:

  • Coffee Hour Fellowship shall only be held outside in the garden; no organized fellowship shall take place indoors.
  • Participation in Coffee Hour Fellowship shall be restricted to persons who are 3-G compliant. (This is because Coffee Hour Fellowship is considered as “gastronomy,” and thus regulated like a restaurant or cafe.)

In all cases, children under 6 years old are not required to be 3-G compliant.
Thank you for your understanding and support, and please be in touch with me if you have any questions.

We look forward to seeing you in worship on Sunday!
Yours in Christ, Pastor John
